Cat Lai Port Does Not Contain Dangerous Goods Containers

Implementing the policy of shifting IMDG container delivery outside TCCL port to ensure fire and explosion safety for the port and surrounding areas, Saigon New Port will implement new regulations for IMDG container delivery at TCCL port from July 1, 2024.

For IMDG containers imported at TCCL port, TCCL port only functions as an unloading port. After being unloaded onto the ship, IMDG containers will have to be transferred to the destination port for delivery. For export goods, TCCL Port only receives IMDG containers of export goods within 24 hours before the expected time of the ship’s arrival at the port registered by the shipping company.

According to Saigon Newport Corporation, Tan Cang Hiep Phuoc Port (TCHP) – Cat Lai Terminal D is positioned as the best “extended arm” for Tan Cang Cat Lai port (TCCL) and Cai Mep port cluster (Ba Ria Vung Tau). With an area of 17 hectares, TCHP – Cat Lai Terminal D operates 2 container wharves and 4 barge wharfs, with a main wharf length of 420m, located on Soai Rap River, and is capable of receiving ships with a large load, up to 50,000 DWT.
